NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's women's soccer team rolled to a 7-0 win over Peace Sunday afternoon at Captains Field.

Hannah Perry put the Captains on top just 19 seconds into the game when she chipped a ball from 30 yards out over the out-stretched hands of the Pacers keeper for the eventual game-winning score.

Seven different players scored for Christopher Newport, including Perry's goal. Brittany Revels, Marica Betoney, Jenn Campbell, Joanna Pollak, Shaynna Ford and Brittany Shumate each scored in the win.

Emily Chesbro, Betoney, Becca Grady, Britta McDonnell, Katie Jaywork and Lauren Flemming each had an assist in the game.

The Captains out-shot the Pacers, 28-3. Dineen Sampson made three saves in goal for CNU.

Christopher Newport improves to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the USA South. Peace falls to 1-7-1 overall and 0-3 in conference play. The Captains return to action Tuesday when they travel to Salisbury with kick-off set for 4:30 pm.
