NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's volleyball team swept NC Wesleyan in the second semifinal of the USA South Tournament Friday night in the Freeman Center.
The Captains won by scores of 30-13, 30-19, and 30-25.
Liz Bush led CNU with 17 kills on 28 attempts with just two errors for a .536 hitting percentage. She also finished with five block solos.
Allie Wolfe contributed 13 kills and eight digs while Ellen Koch added 11 digs.
Brittany Collins added 41 assists, five aces and six digs. She is now 29 assists away from 5,000 for her career.
Christie Kirby finished with a game-high 21 digs.
For the Bishops, Brittany Insley led the way with eight kills, six digs and three block solos. Caitlin George added 12 assists and seven digs. Kelly George and Sydney Bens each finished with 15 digs.
NC Wesleyan finishes the year 21-13. Christopher Newport improves to 31-6. CNU will take on Greensboro at 1 pm in Saturday's USA South Championship.
