Kevin Miller Added to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Placing his name alongside the top men's lacrosse players in the nation, Christopher Newport junior All-American Kevin Miller was added to the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Watch List, which was announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation on Thursday afternoon.

Miller was among 15 standouts from around the country included in the first round of additions to the prestigious Watch List. Together, the latest group joined the initial list of 50 nominees announced last month.

Founded in 2001, The Tewaaraton Award is the highest honor in collegiate lacrosse. It is annually bestowed upon the top player in the United States regardless of age or division. With his selection, Miller became just the second Division III player named to this year's Watch List, joining Tufts' senior Jack Regnery.

Overall, Miller is only the second Captain in school history to earn a spot on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Previously, perennial All-American Andrew Cook was recognized in 2023 and 2024.

Off to an incredible start this season, Miller has remained one of the country's top playmakers. So far this year, the junior juggernaut ranks second in the NCAA with 47 points and 35 assists. Carving up the opposition, he has registered at least three helpers in all eight games while notching five or more points on six occasions.

Stepping up against top-flight competition, Miller posted 20 total points during a three-game assault against nationally-ranked foes in the middle of February. He tallied a season-high nine points during a 16-11 victory over No. 17 Stevenson after collecting seven in a 13-10 win over No. 12 Washington and Lee. Additionally, he handed out four assists in a 16-9 triumph against No. 9 Gettysburg to kick off that run.

Remarkably consistent, Miller dished out six assists in three straight games from February 18-25. Incredibly, the third-year star has notched half-a-dozen helpers in nine of his career appearances. Putting that into perspective, every other player in program history has combined for eight such outings.

In addition to serving as the squad's chief facilitator, Miller also boasts four multi-goal eruptions this season, including hat-tricks against Elizabethtown and Stevenson.

A consensus first-team Preseason All-American, Miller has already started to stockpile awards for his efforts in 2026. He was celebrated as the Coastal Lacrosse Conference Offensive Player of the Week on February 23 before earning a place on the USILA National Team of the Week two days later.

Along with his work this year, Miller is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he earned first-team All-American plaudits while leading the entire NCAA with 81 assists and 115 points. His 81 helpers last spring marked the ninth-highest total in Division III lore and the 11th-most by any player in collegiate lacrosse history.

In his career, the Mechanicsville, Virginia native already ranks second in school history with 138 assists and seventh with 212 points.

Miller and the rest of his teammates will return to action on Sunday when Christopher Newport wraps up a six-game homestand against Ohio Northern at 1 p.m.
