NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Christopher Newport men's soccer will look to add to its unbeaten streak at home on Saturday night as the Captains (5-1-1) will host Marymount University (4-5-1) at 6:00 p.m.
CNU is riding an eight-game unbeaten streak in home games after finishing the 2025 season with two wins in a row at Captains Field and starting the 2026 campaign with a 5-0-1 record as the home team. This year's senior class has dropped just three of the 37 games played at Captains Field over the last four years with a 25-3-9 overall record for a winning percentage of just under 80 percent.
The weekend tilt comes on Homecoming Weekend and will cap the festivities for athletics after the CNU football team hosts William Paterson University at 1:00 p.m. As part of Homecoming, the Captains' men's soccer team from 1986 was recognized as the 2026 Team of Honor as part of the Carl and Denise Farris Hall of Fame induction on Thursday night. Many members of the team will be in attendance at the soccer game on Saturday night with a special Gerard Mosley Wall of Fame induction for Junior Carter, an esteemed member of that honored squad, planned for halftime.
For fans unable to attend in person, live stats and a live video webcast, free of charge, will be available online. Links to both can be found on the men's soccer schedule at CNUsports.com.
CNU owns the advantage in the all-time series against their former conference foes from Marymount University with a 15-1-0 lead in the matchup. The Captains have won eight in a row against the Saints and have posted a 7-0-0 record at home in the series.
