NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- With the 2026 season fast approaching, the Christopher Newport men's lacrosse program will host its 6th Annual Scrimmage and Free Youth Clinic in conjunction with Hampton University on January 24 at Jennings Family Stadium.

The action begins at 1 p.m. with a scrimmage between CNU and Hampton. Following the conclusion of the contest, the two programs will team up to host a free, one-hour postgame clinic and playday on the field immediately after the handshake line.

Participants can bring a stick if they have one, but no experience or equipment is needed to take part in the clinic. Registration is not required, but please keep an eye on the official Instagram page for the CNU men's lacrosse program (@CNUMensLax) for any additional information or to confirm your attendance.

One week after the scrimmage, the Captains will open the 2026 campaign with a noon battle against Elizabethtown on January 31 at Jennings Family Stadium. Christopher Newport is coming off of a 2025 season in which the program produced an 18-4 record while reaching the NCAA Quarterfinals for the fifth straight year.
