LEXINGTON, Va. -- Buoyed by a handful of historic efforts and series of nationally-ranked performances, the Christopher Newport track & field teams pieced together a remarkable showcase on Saturday during the VMI Team Challenge at the Corps Physical Training Facility in Lexington, Virginia.
Making her collegiate debut, first-year speedster

That marked the finest effort by a Division III competitor at Saturday's meet. Earlier in the day, she also punctuated the 400 in 59.56, which bumped her into the top-50 on this year's national charts.
Along with Hollington,

That placed her just behind five Division I runners during the meet and launched her to 29th on the national leaderboard. Flashing her versatility, the third-year sensation also landed a distance of 5.43 meters in the long jump, which led all Division III competitors and placed her 27th in the country.
