Toa Hollenbeck Selected Player of the Week by Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Junior Toa Hollenbeck was honored Monday by the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C). For the third time this season, the Chesapeake, Va., product was selected the Player of the Week in the league.

Hollenbeck topped the Captains with an 18-point performance in their only game of the week, a 68-65 win over 24th-ranked Johns Hopkins last Wednesday at the Freeman Center. The junior knocked down three three-pointers and also pulled down six rebounds and logged two assists and a steal as the 20th-ranked Captains won for the sixth straight time to improve to 14-3 on the year. John Krikorian's squad has also now won 13 of its last 14 games.

Hollenbeck leads the Captains in scoring his season, and is averaging 18.2 points per game over the first 17 outings. He went over the 1,000-point mark for his career earlier his month, becoming just the 35th player in the 58-year history of CNU men's basketball to reach the lofty plateau. He has now scored 1,058 points in 76 career games as a Captain.

Following a ten day break, the Captains have a busy weekend coming up, and will host East Texas Baptist at the Freeman Center this Saturday, January 17th, with tip off set for 4:00 p.m. CNU will then play another Texas school, Mary-Hardin Baylor, on Sunday, January 18th, also at 4:00 p.m. at the Freeman Center.
