CNU Women's Lacrosse Announces 2026 Schedule; Captains to Face Six Reigning Conference Champions

2026 Schedule

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. --
The Christopher Newport women's lacrosse team will face an exciting slate of games in the spring as the Captains recently unveiled their 2026 schedule, which features battles against six reigning conference champions and eight games against programs that advanced to last year's NCAA Tournament.

Among CNU's upcoming foes, six wrapped up the spring ranked in the top-20 of the IWLCA National Coaches Poll. That group includes No. 5 Salisbury, No. 7 York (Pa.), and No. 8 Denison, who all advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2025.

Treating the hometown faithful to a series of compelling match-ups, the Captains will also host nine games at Jennings Family Stadium, including six of their first seven contests of the year. Those bouts include meetings with St. Mary's (Md.) and Haverford, who both reached the national tournament last year.

For the first time since 2005, Christopher Newport will kick off a season with three straight home games. The Captains will open against Berry on February 13 before continuing their homestand against Roanoke on February 21 and St. Mary's (Md.) on February 28.

Following a quick trip to face reigning ODAC champion Washington and Lee on March 4, CNU will return to Newport News for three more home tilts. During that stretch, the squad will square off with Lynchburg on March 7, Haverford on March 11, and Ursinus on March 14.

After spending nearly a month at home, Christopher Newport will face road tilts in five different states during the heart of the 2026 season. Following an in-state trek to Shenandoah on March 18, the Captains will head to York (Pa.) on March 21. Then, after a brief stint at home for a match-up with Washington (Md.) on March 25, the team will hit the road for three straight weeks.

Kicking off the trip, CNU will trek to Ohio for back-to-back bouts against Denison on March 28 and Kenyon on March 29. Then, the squad will swing over to New Jersey for a showdown with Rowan on April 4 before heading to North Carolina for the program's annual test against Meredith on April 11.

Returning home on April 15, Christopher Newport will take on Randolph-Macon before hosting Mary Washington three days later. The regular season will conclude on April 25 at Salisbury before the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament begins on April 29. The league championship is slated for May 2.

CNU is coming off of a 2025 season in which the program climbed as high as 15th in the IWLCA National Coaches Poll while advancing to the title bout in the conference playoffs for the fifth straight year.
