Madi Rozgonyi to Compete in IWLCA Senior All-Star Game on Saturday at USA Lacrosse Headquarters

SPARKS, Md. -- After wrapping up an award-winning career with the Christopher Newport women's lacrosse program earlier this month, Madi Rozgonyi will represent the Captains in the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game, which will be held on Tierney Field at the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland on Saturday.

Sponsored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, the annual game features the top seniors from around the country. Rozgonyi will compete on the Blue Team during the Division III contest, which is slated to begin at 12:30 p.m. During the daylong festivities, the Division II All-Stars will take the field at 10:00 a.m., while the Division I squads will battle at 3:00 p.m.

For those fans looking to attend Saturday's action, admission for all three games is free of charge.

One of the most decorated defenders in program history, Rozgonyi concluded her tenure with a sensational senior season. During the spring, she ranked third in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference with 38 ground balls while slotting eighth with 24 caused turnovers. Just as effective in the center of the turf, she pocketed 57 draw controls, which placed her sixth among league competitors.

Putting her versatility into perspective, Rozgonyi was one of just five players in the league with at least 20 takeaways, 20 rollers, and 20 draws during the 2025 campaign.

Among her highlights during the year, Rozgonyi had at least one caused turnover in 15 of her 19 appearances, including four strips against Rowan on March 21. She also had three takeaways in the opener at Lynchburg on February 15 before matching that total in a top-25 showdown with No. 21 Denison on March 29.

Helping the Captains control possession, she also notched a draw control in 18 games, including two or more in her final 15 outings. During that stretch, she opened the postseason with six draws against Mary Washington in the league semifinals on April 30 after collecting five in regular season bouts against No. 2 Tufts on March 23 and No. 9 Washington and Lee on April 26.

Starring against top-flight competition throughout the year, Rozgonyi also matched her season-high with four ground balls against No. 4 Gettysburg on March 12.

For her work during the spring, the Elkridge, Maryland native hauled in first-team All-Conference and All-Region accolades.

Aided by her work as a senior, Rozgonyi capped off her career ranked second in school history with 103 caused turnovers while becoming the first Captain to register four separate seasons with at least 20 takeaways. A consistent presence on the back line, she started all 80 games during her tenure, marking the longest "Iron Man" streak in program lore.

Honored as the league's Rookie of the Year in 2022, she led the conference and set a new freshman record with 32 takeaways during her debut campaign. Eventually, she went on to become a two-time All-League selection and earned a pair of All-Region citations. Additionally, she was a Preseason All-American in 2025 and an All-State pick as a junior.
