Live Stats // Video Stream

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --
After wrapping up a brief two-game homestand, the 22nd-ranked Christopher Newport women's lacrosse team will return to the road on Saturday when the Captains travel to Ursinus for a noon battle at Patterson Field.

Entering the weekend, CNU sits at 3-2 on the season, including 2-1 on the road. Meanwhile, Ursinus is 1-3 overall and 0-2 at home.

For those fans unable to attend the game, live stats and a video stream of the action will be available at UrsinusAthletics.com. Direct links to both features can be found at the top of this release and on the schedule page.

Christopher Newport is coming off of a 10-5 victory against RPI on Tuesday. Against the Engineers, the Captains stormed out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Brookelyn Morrison and Maelyn Eversole chipped in with four points apiece, while Kate Lamendola landed her second hat-trick of the season.

Along with the offensive standouts, CNU locked down the field with a tremendous performance on the defensive side. The Captains forced 15 turnovers, including two apiece by Carys May, Gabby Saia, Lexi Larson, and Maddie Rusinko. Hadley Chadwick also added seven saves, including three stops in the fourth period to quiet RPI's comeback bid.

With her two strips on Tuesday, Rusinko now has 65 career takeaways. She is just two away from moving into the top-10 on the program's all-time charts. Meanwhile, Madi Rozgonyi pocketed a pair of ground balls against RPI. The Preseason All-American now has 97 career rollers, just three shy of becoming the 22nd player in program history to reach 100.

Aided by the work of the back line, Christopher Newport is currently averaging 13.80 caused turnovers per game. That stands as the highest rate in program history and ranks in the top-50 nationally this year. Lamendola and Morrison are tied for the team-lead with 15 takeaways apiece, while May has seven, including five in her last two appearances.

Ursinus enters Saturday on a three-game skid, including a 20-8 setback against No. 14 TCNJ last weekend. Despite the stumble, the Bears feature a well-balanced attack that has seen 11 different players score at least one goal this year. Maeve Leonzi and Julia McCann have seven tallies apiece, while Dana DeSiato boasts a team-high six assists.

Along with her seven goals, McCann also leads Ursinus with 21 draw controls. As a team, the Bears have controlled 57 percent of their draws this season, including 20 of the 30 draws against TCNJ last Saturday. Meanwhile, between the pipes, Susie Miller has a .343 save percentage and 16.73 goals-against-average.

Saturday's showdown will be the first match-up between CNU and Ursinus.

Following the weekend road trip, Christopher Newport will return home on March 12 for a 3 p.m. battle with Gettysburg at Jennings Family Stadium.
