NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport University is preparing for the NCAA Division III Football Championship after learning on Sunday they will have a bye this weekend, and will not open play in the 40-team tournament until Saturday, November 29th. The Captains, 10-0 and Champions of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, will host the winner of the Susquehanna/Washington & Jefferson game at 12 noon on the 29th at TowneBank Stadium.
The Christopher Newport ticket office announced Monday that tickets will be available to the general public starting thisÂ
Wednesday, November 19th, at 9 a.m. with General Admission and Reserved Bleacher seats. The prices are as follows:
- Chairback $25.00 (available online starting Monday, November 24th)
- Reserved Bleacher $15.00
- General Admission $10.00
Tailgate passes are also available online, and the price will be $30.00. The tailgate lot will open at 10 a.m. on game day. To purchase a tailgate pass online, you will first select the tickets you are purchasing, and the tailgate pass will come up as an add on sale item

Christopher Newport is ranked sixth in the country in the final regular-season poll released Sunday by D3football.com. It's the highest ranking in the 25-year history of the program.
Paul Crowley's team is ranked seventh in the nation in the new weekly poll from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) released on Monday.Â
