NEWPORT NEWS, Va. --  CNU junior libero Maddie Hanes was named the Coast-To-Coast Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Hanes had 48 digs (5.3 per set) in the Captains' three wins over Eastern University, Centre College and Roanoke College. This is her third Defensive Player of the Week honor this season and her second week in a row.

Hines spearheaded a defense that held CNU's three weekend opponents to a hitting percentage of .070. For the season, Hanes leads the C2C in digs with 359 (3.63 per set).

The Captains (22-7) won 16 of their final regular-season matches and are the No. 2 seed in the C2C Championship in Santa Cruz, Calif. CNU will open against the No. 3 Banana Slugs Friday at 4:30 p.m. (EST).
