NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- A week ago Monday, the Christopher Newport men's and women's basketball teams joined several clubs from the Newport News area at the Greater Hampton Roads Boys & Girls Club for the Captains' annual Back to School Basketball Clinic. 

Clubs from around the city brought their kids to participate in drills and games with the nationally-ranked CNU men's and women's basketball teams. The Captains worked with approximately 80 young players on the Iverson Indoor Court and the Nancy Lieberman Dream Court outdoors. 

Over a dozen CNU basketball players -- including seniors Collin Hines, McKenna Snively, and Hailey Kellogg -- were available to work with the children on basketball skills. Teams were taken through stretching, strength and conditioning exercises, shooting, and other activities.
