Jahn Hines Adds to List of Honors...Named First Team All-Region and First Team All-District

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport University's Jahn Hines received two honors on Tuesday, adding to his list of achievements following a stellar career with the Captains. Hines, from Norfolk, Va., was named first team All-Region by D3hoops.com, and was also named first team All-District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

On Monday, Hines was selected to play in this Saturday's NABC All-Star Game in Fort Wayne, Indiana, prior to the National Championship game. Hines became just the second Christopher Newport player to reach the 2,000-point mark this season, and finished behind only Lamont Strothers on the school's all-time scoring list.

His list of career accomplishments includes being named the Player of the Year in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference for the third time this season, and Hines has also been honored as an All-American three times to date. He became just the seventh Christopher Newport men's basketball player to ever have his jersey number retired. Head Coach John Krikorian announced on Senior Day that #22 would never be worn again.

Hines, a product of Norview High School, led the Captains to an overall record of 104-19 (.846) during his career, which included the program's first National Championship in 2023. He averaged 19.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest this year as the Captains concluded the season with a 23-6 record and a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
