Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- On day two of the 2024 ITA Southeast Regional Championships, the Captains had a strong showing in the consolation brackets. The CNU men's tenis team wrapped up the event with three singles wins on Saturday and three more in doubles play. 

In the Championship Doubles draw, rookies Rainer Christiansen and Gabe Smith paired up for a 6-4 win against Ryan Meyer and Keldibek Kozhoev fom Mary Washington. Number nine-seed Edvard Porsmyr Hansen and Ashton Legum advanced to the Round of 16 before falling to Mary Washington pair Trevor Rein and John Reiordan, 8-3. 

In singles, two CNU players bounced back for wins in the consolation playback. Ashton Legum breezed by Wilkes' Nathanial Rathe, 8-1, and Vincent Truong defeated Matthew Leonard (Bridgewater), 8-1. In the Blue 1 bracket, Rainer Christiansen picked up the first win over Hayes Gilbert (Swarthmore), 8-5, before being eliminated in the quarterfinals. 

Finally, Sam Halvorsen split a pair of matches on Saturday in the Blue 3 singles  His win came against Noah Pe (Stevens) by a score of 8-6.
