RICHMOND, Va. -- A pair of Christopher Newport men's tennis stars were named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State team on Thursday as veterans
Vincent Truong and
Barrett Foster hauled in second team recognition. Truong earned second team All-State honors in both singles and doubles while Foster collected his first certificate in pairs play.
Truong wraps up his storied career as a six-time VaSID All-State selection after earning first team honors in both singles and doubles following the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Foster, in his lone season as a Captain as a graduate transfer from Hampden-Sydney College, extends a streak of six consecutive years that CNU has featured at least one doubles tandem among the All-State honorees.
Concluding his career with 47 wins in singles and 57 doubles victories, Truong ranks fifth all-time at CNU in pairs wins. The 2023 C2C Rookie of the Year, 2024 C2C Player of the Year, and 2025 C2C Doubles Team of the Year, Truong completed his tenure as one of the most decorated Captains all-time. He earned first team All-Conference doubles and second team All-C2C recognition in singles following his senior campaign.
Truong played all 13 of his dual appearances in singles at No. 1 or No. 2, picking up five wins. In doubles play, he paired with Foster to post an 11-12 overall record and 9-8 record in No. 1 doubles matches.
Christopher Newport finished the season with a 12-8 overall record and advanced to the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Championship.
