NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport University hits the road on Tuesday for a softball doubleheader at Bridgewater College. The first game is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. The Captains have a record of 11-2, while the Eagles are 7-9 so far this season.

Keith Parr's squad is coming off a 3-1 loss at Virginia Wesleyan University on Friday afternoon, a defeat that snapped a five-game Captains winning streak. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader in Virginia Beach was postponed due to rain.

Bridgewater is coming off a sweep on Sunday over Mary Baldwin by scores of 6-5 in eight innings and 5-3. The Eagles have won four of their last five games after a 3-8 start.

Since beginning their all-time series in 1985, the Captains and Eagles have played 30 times. CNU has a 19-11 record vs. BC, and the Captains have won the last four games, including a sweep last year at Captains Park by scores of 11-2 and 4-3.

Following Tuesday's action, Christopher Newport is scheduled to return home for a twin bill at Captains Park on Friday, hosting New York University. The opening game is set for first pitch at 4:00 p.m.
