CHARLESTON FALL INTERCONFERENCE - Full Results
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Captains finished with a tenth-place finish out of 11 teams in the Charleston Fall Interconference this weekend. The entire regatta was sailed on Saturday with 11 races completed in both A and B division sailing.
Leading the way for the Captains was the B division boat with an eighth place finish in 78 total points.
Aston Atherton sailed with
Berend Van der Meer and the pair had a strong second half with three top-five finishes. Atherton steered the B division boat to four top-fives in total and added a sixth- and seventh-place showing in the final rotation.
The A division boat captured a ninth place showing with 92 points.
Josh Bendura sailed with Jonathan Matney as the duo finished with a regatta-high fifth place effort in the final race of the weekend.
WOMEN'S ACC ROUND 1A - Full Results
NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Taking on a challenging field at the Women's ACC Round 1A regatta, the Captains took a 14th place finish out of 18 teams in the event. CNU scored 264 points with 149 in A division and 115 in B division racing.
The B division boat was sailed by
Laura Smith and crewed by Gabrielle Byrne. The seniors saved the best for last with a second-place finish on day two in the final race -- the 11th overall. Smith and Byrne logged three top-five and four top-ten finishes for the Captains.
In A division sailing, CNU hauled in a 14th place showing with 149 points as senior
Grace Watlington and junior
Gail Schneider sailed all 11 races. The duo finished with two top-ten efforts including a regatta-best fifth place showing in the ninth race.
