NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport University takes on Emmanuel College (Mass.) Friday afternoon in Seguin, Texas. It's the opening game of the 2021 NCAA Division III Softball Championship for the Captains, and the regional is being hosted by top seed Texas Lutheran University.

The Captains are seeded third, while the Saints are the fourth seed. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. Keith Parr's squad is 28-12 heading into NCAA play, and the Captains are appearing in their 14th straight NCAA Tournament. The game will be the third of four scheduled for Friday in Seguin in the double-elimination regional.
