NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport University softball returns to action Wednesday afternoon, as the Captains host the Pacers of William Peace University. The non-conference doubleheader is scheduled to get started at 2:00 p.m. at Captains Park.

Christopher Newport, ranked third in the country in the pre-season national poll, went 2-2 last weekend to open the 2021 season. Keith Parr's Captains dropped two games on Saturday at Virginia Wesleyan University, but bounced back to sweep Randolph College Sunday at Captains Park.

William Peace will enter play on Wednesday with a 1-9 record so far this season. The Pacers are coming off two defeats on Saturday at home to Greensboro College.
