NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport softball has played a dozen straight games at home, going 11-1 over the last two weeks at Captains Park. This weekend, Keith Parr's team will head west for doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va. Both squads the Captains will be taking on are presently undefeated to start the 2021 season.

The Captains will play one game each day against Emory & Henry College and one each day vs. Transylvania University. The action begins for CNU at 12:30 p.m. Saturday against E&H.

The Captains, ranked fourth in the country this week in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll, are coming off back-to-back doubleheader sweeps over Averett and North Carolina Wesleyan on Tuesday and Wednesday. Overall, Christopher Newport is 11-3 after opening the season on the road with a pair of losses at third-ranked Virginia Wesleyan on February 27th, the only road games played so far.
