NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Megan O'Hara and Katie Crofford were respectively named Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors. The Captains went 2-1 last week, including sweeps of conference opponents St. Mary's and Salisbury.

This marks the fourth consecutive week at least one Captain has been named a CAC Player of the Week and the second time CNU has swept both awards. Crofford is the first student-athlete in the league this year to win both offensive and defensive honors with her offensive award coming on September 30.

Megan O'Hara led the way on offense with 25 kills (2.27/set) on a 32.8% hitting percentage. She added five total blocks. Against St. Mary's, O'Hara tallied seven kills (.357), a block, and a dig. She posted six kills (.385), a dig, and a block vs. Salisbury. O'Hara finished off the week with a 12-kill (.300) effort on Saturday afternoon in addition to two digs and three blocks against Stockton.

Katie Crofford collected her 1,000th career dig en route to 34 kills (3.09/set) on a 30.9% hitting percentage along with 32 digs (2.91/set), an ace, and four total blocks. Crofford tallied 13 kills on a .526 hitting percentage to go with an assist, an ace, eight digs, and one block against St. Mary's. She racked up six kills (.357), five digs and two blocks as part of a defeat of Salisbury. She finished off the week with a double-double of 15 kills, 19 digs, and one block against Stockton.

The Captains, 5-0 in the CAC, will seek to secure a season sweep of Southern Virginia on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Freeman Center.
