NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Christopher Newport women's lacrosse team will continue its three-game homestand with a pair of midweek battles as CNU welcomes Washington (Md.) to town on Tuesday at 4 p.m. before hosting Haverford on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Captains Turf Field.
Christopher Newport comes into play with a 3-3 record, including a 1-2 mark at home. Meanwhile, Washington (Md.) and Haverford both sit at 3-1 overall.

The Captains are coming off of a thrilling 16-15 victory that saw the squad erase a five-goal halftime deficit on the way to the win.
Sarah Culver led the attack with six goals, while
Colleen Bourgal contributed six points as well.
Catherine Leighty also added three strikes, including the game-winner, and fellow freshman
Gracie Sanders chipped in with a pair of tallies.
So far this season, Christopher Newport already has three double-digit goal scorers. Culver ranks third in the CAC with 20 goals, while Bourgal has 15 and Leighty has 10.
Carly Wilson has also dished out 11 assists, which places her third among conference competitors. On the defensive end,
Kaitlyn Ready leads the league with 69 saves, and
Tess D'Arcy is sixth with seven caused turnovers. Four of those came on Saturday against the Avenging Angels.
Washington (Md.) opened the 2018 season with three straight victories before dropping a 16-4 decision to No. 5 Salisbury on Saturday. Against the Sea Gulls, the Shorewomen trailed by only two at halftime, but SU scored 10 unanswered goals in the second stanza to steal the victory. Washington (Md.) was led by Cecily Docktor, who posted a goal and an assist during the contest.
Overall this season, Docktor leads Washington (Md.) with nine points and enters Tuesday just two shy of 100 for her career. Kristy Grovom also boasts a team-high six goals and nine draw controls. Between the pipes, Isabella Richardson has started all four games and sports a .530 save percentage and a 9.91 goals-against-average. She has collected at least 10 saves in three of her appearances, including 16 stops in the opener against Albright.
Haverford has an identical 3-1 record with the program's only loss coming against nationally-ranked TCNJ two weeks ago. The Fords last outing came in a high-scoring 19-16 victory over Cabrini on Saturday. Rina Rosnow led the way with five goals, while Molly Lausten contributed three, including her 100th career strike. Meanwhile, Rachel Romens made nine saves to collect her second straight victory.
So far this year, Lausten leads Haverford with 12 goals and is tied with Allie Gibbons for the team-lead with 13 points. Three Fords also have at least 10 draw controls, including 15 by Olivia DiRienz. In the crease, Romens has started the last two games for Haverford, while Paige Walton also earned a pair of starting assignments and boasts a team-best .464 save percentage.
CNU and Washington (Md.) have played three times with the Shorewomen holding a 3-0 lead in the series, including a 10-9 win in Chestertown last year. The Captains have only met Haverford once with Christopher Newport recording a 17-14 win in Pennsylvania last season.
Following this week's action, CNU will hit the road for the start of Capital Athletic Conference play at Frostburg State on March 24.
