NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Due to travel concerns in the wake of Tropical Storm Hermine, the Christopher Newport Department of Athletics has announced a schedule change to the 2016 Joe Pombriant / CNU Soccer Classic for Sunday, September 4. The CNU men's soccer team will host Allegheny College (0-0-1) at 10:00 am on Sunday morning, concluding the annual event at Captains Field. 

Head coach Steve Shaw and the Captains (1-0-0) opened the season Friday night with a thunderous offensive outburst against Greensboro College (0-1-0), capturing a 7-2 win. Allegheny also opened their season on Friday, playing to a 2-2 draw with Virginia Wesleyan College (0-0-1).
