Third-Ranked CNU Softball Hosts Monday Matinee With Eastern Mennonite

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- It's back to non-conference play for the Captains of Christopher Newport Monday afternoon. The third-ranked CNU squad will host the Royals of Eastern Mennonite in a doubleheader at Captains Park. The first game is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.

Keith Parr's squad is coming off a split on Saturday with ninth-ranked Salisbury in the Capital Athletic Conference opener for both schools. The Sea Gulls won the opener, 4-2, before the Captains took the nightcap, 5-3. CNU is now 17-2 on the season.

Eastern Mennonite enters play Monday afternoon with a 13-5 mark, and is coming off a doubleheader sweep at Mary Washington on Friday.

The games will continue a busy home stretch for the Captains, who will also be at home on Wednesday against Virginia Wesleyan. Wednesday's doubleheader will start at 5:00 p.m.
