NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Expected wet weather conditions in the Newport News area has forced head coach Keith Parr to announce an adjustment to his schedule, as the games originally scheduled against Bridgewater College for Saturday have been postponed. The third-ranked Captains (14-1) will return to the diamond on Sunday, traveling to Roanoke College (9-5) at 3:00 pm. 

The schedule change is the second of the season for Christopher Newport, who will make up games against Eastern Mennonite and Bridgewater later in the season. Makeup dates have yet to be announced. 

Parr and the Captains are off to a tremendous start to the season, winning 14 of their first 15 games with the lone loss coming to the No. 1 team in the nation, Texas-Tyler. CNU features the fifth highest on-base percentage in the nation as a team, at .468. So far this season, senior Scoop Simon is hitting a team-high .447, while four Captains are hitting at a .388 clip or better. Sophomore Brittney Walters has driven in a team-best 17 runs and boasts a team-high seven extra-base hits. 

The Captains will face Roanoke on the road Sunday, with game times scheduled for 3:00 and 5:00 pm. Live stats and live video will be available at CNUsports.com.
