NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - With just four weeks remaining in the 2016 football regular season, there are five schools tied atop the New Jersey Athletic Conference standings with 4-1 league marks. Following this Saturday's action, there will be three at most.
Two of those squads currently in the logjam, Christopher Newport and Frostburg State, tangle Saturday at Bobcat Stadium in Frostburg, MD. Kickoff time is set for 1:00 p.m.
"Every game now is almost like a playoff game," Head Coach
Matt Kelchner said. "There are still a lot of games to be played over the next month, but the importance of each one is magnified. This league has so much talent from top to bottom, you could really see some interesting scenarios as it all plays out."

The Bobcats, riding a four-game winning streak, are giving up 243 yards per game while the Captains are yielding 273 so far. FSU is allowing just 14.0 points per game, while CNU is giving up 15.5.
Both teams are 5-1 overall in addition to being 4-1 in conference play. The Captains are coming off a dramatic 28-21 victory over Montclair State in double overtime at POMOCO Stadium last Saturday. Frostburg State had its highest offensive output of the season last Saturday in a 34-7 road triumph at the College of New Jersey.
The game will be the third all-time meeting, and the Bobcats have won the first two. Last year at POMOCO Stadium, FSU recorded a 19-14 victory.
Christopher Newport senior wide receiver
Taylor Loudan needs just 11 receptions to become the all-time leader in CNU history. Loudan, who caught two touchdown passes last week, has 153 career catches, trailing only Rudy Rudolph's 163 career mark. Loudan now has 17 touchdown catches.
