NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- The Christopher Newport football squad heads back into action Saturday night, as the Captains look to rebound following their first loss of the season last week. CNU will host North Carolina Wesleyan in USA South Athletic Conference play. Kickoff time is set for 7:00 p.m. at POMOCO Stadium.

"We've had a good week of practices in the rain and we'll be ready to play," Head Coach Matt Kelchner said. "North Carolina Wesleyan is a good team, we're going to be challenged."

The Captains are now 3-1 overall and 0-1 in the USA South. The Bishops enter play at 1-4 overall and 1-1 in league play.

CNU lost last Saturday at Methodist, 24-21, while NCWC was beaten at home by LaGrange, 50-26.

The meeting will be the 10th all-time, with the Captains holding a 6-3 edge in the series. Last year in Rocky Mount, the Captains posted a 17-10 victory over the Bishops. CNU has won the last three games over North Carolina Wesleyan.

All CNU games are broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM). The pre-game show will begin at 6:30 p.m.
