TOWSON, Md. - The Christopher Newport University men's lacrosse team suffered a 15-3 loss to #17 Goucher College. Teddy Pekalski, Matt Shaw and Gregory Limon scored for the Captains.

The Captains fell behind by seven goals in the first period of the game and Goucher continued the scoring through the third period. At halftime the score was 11-0 and Goucher tacked on three more in the third period.

The Captains got on the board at the 9:11 mark in the fourth period off a goal by Limon with the assist going to Devin Bushweller. Goucher scored one more before the Captains finished out the game with two goals.

Rob Koster assisted a goal from Pekalski with 3:27 remaining in the game. Shaw's goal came off a pass from John Glaser in the final seconds of the contest.

The Captains were outshot 42 to 14. Goucher led with 35 ground balls to CNU's 29. Goucher also led with 13 faceoff wins to CNU's nine.

CNU fell to 3-8 with the loss while Goucher improved to 12-1. The Captains return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Lynchburg to take on the Hornets. The game is set to start at 7:00pm.
