NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Head coach Keith Parr announced a schedule change today for the weekend's doubleheader against Methodist University. The Captains will move the games scheduled for Saturday to Monday afternoon, set to begin at 2:30 pm. Impending weather concerns are the reason for the adjustment.

The 15th-ranked Captains are 15-5 to start the year overall, with a 6-2 record in USA South action. The Monarchs are atop the conference standings, unbeaten through eight games in the USA South, boasting an 18-6 mark overall.

Two Captains are hitting .406 through the first 20 games, as junior catcher Chelsea Mitchell and rookie first baseman Sabrina Hill lead the way for CNU. Mitchell has scored a team-high 22 runs and driven in a team-best 27 runs, while Hill has smacked a league-leading seven home runs in her first year. The Captains rank seventh in the nation in slugging percentage as a team, blasting 22 home runs and 66 extra-base hits so far this year.
