SALISBURY, MD- The Christopher Newport softball team will play Salisbury Sunday afternoon for the NCAA regional title. CNU is the only undefeated team in the double elimination tournament and beat Salisbury on Saturday, 7-3.

There were two elimination games played Sunday morning as Rowan ousted Shenandoah and then Salisbury knocked out Rowan to advance to play in the title game.

Keith Parr's Captains have won three straight games in Salisbury in NCAA play over Virginia Wesleyan (8-6), Emory (7-3 in 13 innings), and Salisbury (7-3).

CNU has won three out of four games with the Sea Gulls this season.

A win for the Captains would propel them into the NCAA national finals for the second straight season. A win by the Sea Gulls on Sunday would force a deciding game on Monday morning.

The Captains are now 34-10 on the season.
