NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Christopher Newport University men's lacrosse team is heading to Latrobe, Pennsylvania to take on St. Vincent College on Saturday at 2:30 pm. This is the first meeting of the Captains and Bearcats in program history.
The Captains are coming off a big 9-8 win against Mary Washington on Sunday. They are currently 3-0 with their other two wins being Randolph College (17-1) and Southwestern University (11-5).
John Glaser is leading the Captains offensively with 12 points coming from eight goals and four assists. He is followed by
Rob Koster with seven goals and two assists.
Chase Walton has a team-high eight caused turnovers and also has eight ground balls a goal and three assists.
Greg Basch has won 39 of 50 groundballs which ranks him ninth in Division III for faceoff win percentage with .780.
Ari Elgort has gone nine for 12 in faceoffs giving the team a .774 average ranking them third nationally.
Goalkeeper
Andy McGregor has started all three games for the Captains and made 17 saves and only allowed 14 goals. His goals against average of 5.09 ranks him 15th in all of Division III.
The Bearcats are being led by
Will DeLanoy and
Jake Dick with 12 goals apiece.
Sean Kretovics has a team-high 23 ground balls and a team-high six caused turnovers.
Peter Hronis has taken the majority of the faceoffs for the Bearcats and has won 30 of 49 taken.

Adam Hunter has made 26 saves and allowed 40 goals in their first four games of the year.
