ANNVILLE, Pa. -- In the 2011 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship, the 11th ranked Captains of Christopher Newport University (27-3) are facing a tough test in the Sweet 16 round, taking on ninth-ranked Kean University of New Jersey (24-4). The game will tip at 6:00 pm on a neutral floor on the campus of Lebanon Valley College.

Chelsie Schweers, the USA South Player of the Year, is leading the tournament in scoring, averaging 35 points per game with 12 made three-pointers in two games. She's also leading the nation in scoring over the season, with 25.5 points per game.
Through two games of NCAA play, CNU and Kean are both averaging 81 points per game, tied for the third best total in this year's tournament. Defensively, Kean is allowing 56.5 points to CNU's 57.0. Both teams are also grabbing 44 rebounds per game, while CNU has outrebounded its opponents by 11 compared to Kean's 10.5.
Kean University also breezed through the first two rounds, with wins over Vassar and Western Connecticut State. Led by New Jersey Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year, Tiffany Patrick, Kean has won seven of their last eight. Patrick averages 14.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game for the Cougars.
Tip for the Sweet 16 game is set for 6:00 pm. The other game in the sectional will feature host Lebanon Valley College (27-2) taking on William Paterson (26-3). The winners will advance to play in the Elite Eight matchup at 7:00 pm on Saturday.
