NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Christopher Newport University field hockey team is traveling to Lexington, Va. on Sunday as they square off against the Generals of Washington and Lee University. The Captains are coming off a 9-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday and are currently 7-1.

The Generals are 2-2 on the year so far and are hosting the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan today at 2:00pm. Kelly Tran is leading the Generals with six points from two goals and two assists. The Captains are being led by Katelyn Yandle (Portsmouth, Va.) with six goals and one assist.

The Captains and Generals have faced off eight times in program history with the Captains leading the series 7-1. Washington & Lee's win came in 2008.

Game time is set for 3:00pm on Sunday, September 26.
