Women’s Lacrosse Falls to #15 Washington & Lee, 16-7

Box Score LEXINGTON, VA – CNU women's lacrosse dropped their last regular season game to #15 Washington & Lee, 16-7. The loss drops CNU to 13-6 on the season and improves Washington & Lee to 14-4.

Captain Meghan Harkey put in the first goal of the game at 28.27 followed by two quick goals by Washington & Lee, the second coming off a free position shot by Kate Donnelly. Harkey got her second of the game at 22:59 making the score an even 2-2. Washington & Lee took off on a seven goal run with the last coming at 1:39 in the first half making the score 9-2 at halftime.

Alyssa Burke won the draw for CNU at the start of the half and less than a minute later Becca Geist found the back of the net for the Captains. The next 10 minutes of play saw three goals by W&L and two more by CNU making it  12-5 with 19:28 remaining. W&L scored again at 17:22 followed by two goals from the Captains making it 13-7. W&L put in the last three goals of the game giving them a 16-7 victory over the Captains. 

Harkey and Geist led the Captains with two goals apiece. Also scoring for the Captains was Kaitlin Quigley, Grace Valentine and Rachel Tomlinson. Gayle Robinson had 13 saves in the game.
