Women’s Lacrosse Falls to #18 Mary Washington, 18-10

Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, VA –CNU women's lacrosse fell to #18 Mary Washington, 18-10, in Fredericksburg, VA. The Captains were ahead 8-4 at halftime but the Eagles came back with 14 second-half goals to win the game.

The Captains started the scoring off a free position shot from Meghan Harkey at 26:14. After UMW scored at 22:09 CNU scored three making it 4-1 at 18:23 in the first half. The Captains went on to score four more goals in the first half while the Eagles only added three to end the first half 8-4.

The momentum shifted to the Eagles in the second half as they scored 13 unanswered goals. The Captains scored their first goal of the second half at 6:14 and added another at 4:31.

Leading the Captains in goals was Kaitlin Quigley with five. The Eagles were led by Allie Kimmelman who also netted five.

CNU led in groundballs with 27 to UMW's 21 but trailed in shots 29 to 45.
   
Gayle Robinson had 12 saves in the game.

The Captains return to action on Saturday, April 10, as they travel to Shenandoah University.
