BURLINGTON, N.C. - The CNU men's tennis team fell just short in its quest for a USA South championship, dropping a 6-3 decision to top-seeded N.C. Wesleyan Sunday.
The Captains took two of the three doubles matches.
Eric Shulman and
Lorenzo Sison defeated Anton Filanov and Ramon Garcia, 8-6 at No. 1 and
Gian Heyer and
Dusty Nelson topped Marcelo Prata and Artsiom Prostak, 8-6 at No. 2.
But only Shulman was able to win in singles, winning over Antii Saari, 0-6, 6-3, 10-7 at No. 1.
Shulman was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament and
Gian Heyer was included on the all-tournament team.
The Captains are now 14-9 for the year.
