Men's Tennis Falls to N.C. Wesleyan, 6-3, in USA South Final

BURLINGTON, N.C. - The CNU men's tennis team fell just short in its quest for a USA South championship, dropping a 6-3 decision to top-seeded N.C. Wesleyan Sunday.

The Captains took two of the three doubles matches. Eric Shulman and Lorenzo Sison defeated Anton Filanov and Ramon Garcia, 8-6 at No. 1 and Gian Heyer and Dusty Nelson topped Marcelo Prata and Artsiom Prostak, 8-6 at No. 2.

But only Shulman was able to win in singles, winning over Antii Saari, 0-6, 6-3, 10-7 at No. 1.

Shulman was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament and Gian Heyer was included on the all-tournament team.

The Captains are now 14-9 for the year.
