BURLINGTON, N.C. - After winning its first two games of the tournament, the CNU baseball team dropped its first contest of the weekend, a 19-5 defeat to Shenandoah.

 CNU actually took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first, helped by a two-run single by Mike Romett.

  The Hornetsd chipped away with a run each in the first and second and then exploded for six in the fourth, three in the fifth and eight in the sixth. The game was halted after the top of the seventh.

  Ben Lenda was 2-4 with two RBIs, Steven Lindemuth 2-4 and Connor Madden 2-3.

  CNU will play at 7 p.m. today against the winner of the Ferrum-Averett game.
