NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Senior center Mark Blasingame was named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) College Division all-state team it was announced Thursday.
Blasingame, a 6-8 native of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., who attended Grafton High School in Virginia, completed his career as just the third player in CNU history to record at least 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. He totaled 1,107 points and 1,068 rebounds. He averaged a double-double in points and rebounds as sophomore and barely missed that mark in each of the last two seasons, and for his entire career. His totals for 107 games were 10.3 points per game and 9.9 rebounds, just two total rebounds short of double figures.
He was a second team all-state choice last year and a first and second team all-USA South selection in his final two seasons.
