Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Christopher Newport University field hockey team won their tenth straight game at Captains Field tonight against the Eagles of Mary Washington. The Captains improve to 12-1 while the Eagles drop to an even 6-6.

After dominating the beginning of the game the Captains put one on the board with a goal from Sarah Wister (Yorktown, Va.) off a penalty stroke at 23:31. This was Wister's third goal this year, all from penalty strokes.

Just ten minutes later the Captains scored again with a goal from Taylor Harrell (Virginia Beach, Va.) off a pass from Katelyn Yandle (Portsmouth, Va.). This put the score at 2-0 where it stayed as the first half closed.

Yandle scored the next goal, off a pass from Kylie Cale (Chester, Va.), giving her 11 goals on the year.

The Captains allowed one goal for the Eagles at 65:05 with Morgan Jones scoring an unassisted goal.

The Captains led the night in shots adding up 19 to Mary Washington's 10. They also led in penalty corners as they earned 20 to the Eagle's four.

Mary Washington goalkeeper Chrissy Bowdren made 13 saves while CNU goalkeeper Brittany Bradsher (Hampton, Va.) had five.
