LEXINGTON, VA – Christopher Newport's men's tennis squad shut out Bridgewater, 9-0, Saturday evening at Washington & Lee.
In doubles action, John Braig and Lorenzo Sison (CNU) defeated Brian Remsch and Ryan Radke 8-6 at No. 1; Eric Shulman and Thomas Whaling (CNU) defeated Chris Radke and Brad DeWitt 8-4; and Martin Brown and Dylan Young (CNU) defeated Andrew Thornton and Teddy Callow 8-4 at No. 3.
In singles play, Shulman (CNU) defeated Remsch 6-2, 6-0; Sison (CNU) defeated R. Radke 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2; Brown (CNU) defeated C. Radke 6-2, 6-1; Young (CNU) defeated Callow 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 at No. 4; Braig (CNU) defeated Thornton 6-4, 6-2 and Whaling (CNU) defeated Brent Floyd 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6.
The Eagles fall to 0-2 on the year while the Captains improve to 1-1. CNU returns to action Sunday as they take on 19th-ranked Washington & Lee at 12 pm.
