Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The Christopher Newport Field Hockey team defeated St. Mary's 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Captains Field.

   Taylor Harrell gave the Captains  1-0 lead in the 28th minute of the first half when she was able to beat Emma Lauhoff.

   The Seahawks were able to tie the score in the second half Lauriann Parker took a Brooke Massimore pass and was able to fire it past Captains' keeper Emma Stout. 

   That tie would only last for eight minutes as Taylor Harrell was able to give the Captains' a 2-1 in the 58th minute. Annie Gehring would round out the scoring for the Captains when she scored in the 67th minute.

   With the win the Captains improve to 10-3. They will return to action next Saturday when they host Johns Hopkins on Captains Field at 3pm.
