RALIEGH, NC - Christopher Newport's women's soccer squad won its fifth straight match Sunday winning 6-0 at USA South rival Peace.
Emily Chesbro got the scoring started just 1:08 into the start of the match and Chelsea Brown blistered one from about 22 yards out in the sixth minute to put CNU out front, 2-0.
The Captains would erupt for four goals in the second half. Caitlin Maat scored in the 55th minute with Shelby Walters assisting. Kendall Dishaw scored in the 63rd minute off a feed from Ann Marie Latess. Brittany Revels scored the final two goals. Katie Jaywork assisted on the second goal.
Christopher Newport out-shot the Pacers, 47-1. Dineen Sampson and Erin Wojtkun split time in goal and neither was called upon to make a save.
Peace falls to 2-8 overall and 0-3 in the USA South. The Captains improve to 5-4-1 on the year and 3-0 in conference play. CNU returns to action Wednesday when they host Salisbury with kick-off set for 6 pm.
