RALIEGH, NC – Christopher Newport's women's soccer squad won its fourth straight with a 3-0 win over USA South rival Meredith Saturday afternoon.
Kendall Dishaw scored the first of her two goals, which ended up being the game-winner, unassisted in the 13th minute.
Emily Chesbro added an insurance goal in the 17th minute off of Shelby Walters corner kick that Chesbro headed over the line for a 2-0 lead.
Dishaw's second score came in the 49th minute off of another corner kick that bounced off three CNU players and finally off Dishaw and into the net.
The Captains out-shot the Avenging Angels, 17-11. Dineen Sampson played the first half and made five saves in goal while Erin Wojtkun played the final 45 minutes and had four stops.
Meredith falls to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. CNU improves to 4-4-1 on the year and 2-0 in the USA South. The Captains conclude their Raleigh, NC road trip by playing at Peace Sunday night at 7 pm.
