ROCKY MOUNT, NC – Christopher Newport's Volleyball team swept a pair of matches from the Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan on Wednesday evening.

The Captains, nationally ranked at #21, and NCW played a double-header, with CNU taking both matches by a score of 3-0.

In the first match, the Captains took the sets by scores of 25-12, 25-15, and 25-23.  They combined for a total of 46 kills, 43 assists, and 55 digs.  Allison Wolfe and Ryann Lowery were big-time contributors for CNU as Wolfe had 17 kills, and Lowery posted 23 assists.

The second match scores were won by marks of 25-16, 26-24, and 25-15.  This time, it was Ellen Koch paving the way for the Captains with 13 kills.  Meanwhile, Lowery would post big numbers again, as she and Jessie Heavenrich each had 17 assists.

With the victories, the Captains improve to 11-3 on the season and 6-0 in league action.

Christopher Newport will return home this weekend to host a USA South Tri-Match Tournament against Ferrum and Averett.  Matches are set for 11pm and 5pm respectively.
