Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's field hockey squad rolled to a 5-0 win over McDaniel Saturday afternoon at home.
Ashley Cybulski scored the first of her two goals, which turned out to be the game-winner, in the 24th minute with Haylie Black assisting.
CNU scored four insurance goals in the second half. Anne Gehring scored unassisted in the 42nd minute, Cybulski scored her second in the 44th minute with Taylor Harrell assisting, and Nicole Kuykendall scored twice in the with Kylie Cale and Courtney Russ assisting.
The Captains out-shot the Green Terror, 18-1. Emma Stout recorded the shutout while making one stop in the cage.
McDaniel falls to 3-3 overall while CNU improves to 4-3 on the year. Christopher Newport returns to action Wednesday when they head to VA Wesleyan with face-off set for 4 pm.
