LYNCHBURG, VA – Christopher Newport's women's soccer squad dropped a 3-0 decision to Lynchburg Friday night.
The Hornets struck early, scoring the eventual game-winner in the 10th minute. LC would tack on another in the 28th minute and lead 2-0 at the half.
In the second half, Dineen Sampson replaced Erin Wojtkun and made several nice saves, totaling five for the half and allowing just an own goal. Wojtkun had one stop in the opening half.
Lynchburg out-shot the Captains, 24-2.
The Hornets improve to 5-0-1 on the year while Christopher Newport falls to 0-3-1. The Captains head for Stevenson College in Maryland Saturday for a neutral site contest against Cal State Lutheran.
