FERRUM, VA – Christopher Newport's women's lacrosse squad snapped a two-match losing streak by rolling to a 15-1 win at USA South foe Ferrum Sunday afternoon.

The Captains scored the first four goals of the game and the Panthers tallied their only score with 12:04 left in the first. From there, CNU finished the game with 11 unanswered scores.

Meghan Harkey paced Christopher Newport with four goals and one assist. Kaitlin Quigley scored three times and also had one helper. Katie Doherty, Dani Guessford and Bonnie Hansen each scored twice.

Shayna Sargent and Kylene Jennings both had one goal in the win.

Gayle Robinson picked up win number six on the year, playing just over 34 minutes while making three saves. Rachel Giljam played the remainder of the game and had five stops.

Ferrum falls to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in the USA South. The Captains improve to 6-4 on the year and 3-0 in conference play.

CNU returns to action Monday when they head to Randolph-Macon with start time set for 4 pm.
