VA BEACH, VA – Christopher Newport's softball team dropped its last two games of the Beach Blast Tournament Saturday afternoon.

The tournament moved back to its original home. The games were played in Virginia Beach.

CNU lost game one to Louisiana College, 9-0, in five innings. Janet Fairchild suffered the loss for the Captains.

Kean (NJ) defeated the Captains in game two, 2-1. Kristen Bruce took the loss. Megan Morris was 2-for-2 and drove in Christopher Newport's only run on a solo home run. Margit Severin went 2-for-3.

The Captains fall to 4-2 on the year. CNU returns to action Friday, March 7, when they play Cabrini at 9 am and Allegheny at 11 am in the Sea Gull Classic hosted by Salisbury University.
