NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – Christopher Newport's baseball squad loaded the bases with no out in the bottom of the ninth, trailing, 5-2, but was only able to score one run as the Captains fell to Villa Julie, 5-3, Saturday afternoon at Captains Park.

The Mustangs managed three unearned runs of CNU starter Steven Millerleile, who went six innings. They added what proved to be the margin of victory with two runs in the seventh off reliever Josh Hankins.

CNU got six hits in the game, one each by six different players, including doubles by Trae Bailey and Travis Medina.

The Captains fall to 4-2 on the season, while Villa Julie improves to 2-1. CNU will play a single game Sunday against Bridgewater at 1 p.m.
